Strength to fulfil Destiny

Strength

Some are destined to save lives, some are to become lawyers or serve for their country. Everybody has a destiny. But how many people actually live to fulfil them? Some may not even know theirs. I knew that I was born to teach, to give children a firm and powerful foundation for their lives, to love them and teach them how to love themselves, to open their eyes to the incredible world around them.

I may well have been able to do that in the life that I was leading. My mediocre and safe life. The life that was not reaching the full potential that God had intended for me. It takes a lot of strength to stop walking round the mountain and to start walking up it. You may be able to look up and see how magnificent it could be but it seems a lot safer and easier to keep circling around it. This is what happened in my life. I made a decision that my life needed to change.

I could have easily kept circling that mountain and I may have been 'okay' but I knew that there was an amazing mountain up there and I wanted to take on the climb.
I made the brave decision to leave my job, end my year long relationship, leave my friends and family and move miles away to Tanzania to work as a teacher. I know God is behind everyone of these decisions and that this is the beginning of my new fulfilled life.

This is the first of many posts that I will share of my new adventures teaching the 3rd and 4th grade in Africa.

God Bless
